Does leg strength effect buttering?

I have a pair of 2013 Chronics, and they seem really stiff to me. I've used them for over a season now and I don't understand why I can't butter. According the the LINE Instagram, they are really flexible skis. I'm 16 with considerably strong legs... Do I need to commit more or something else??

Buttering does take a fair amount of leg strength, but it is mostly the how you set and follow through with the butter. It's a lot of commitment and technique.

It takes about as much leg strength as doing a wheelie on a bike is upper body strength... almost none.
You just need to literally lean over the tips of your skis keeping your whole body stiff. Can you flex them just standing in the lift line? Cause thats literally all you do...except that now you will be moving.

i have the same problem on my pow skis. i have the 188crj and i cant get a super deep butter, but i hop on my friends 176(i think) crjs and i can literally power those things into the ground and get so deep of butter. so not only leg strength but length too

Not getting Line skis is an option… but it also takes some skills, it is more than just leaning back on your tails

Do your boots fit properly?

It probably has more to do with body weight than leg strength but overall it's mostly just commitment
