Winter ski camps/coaches

I really want to get a coach or someone who can really help me progress in the winter. Does anyone know how I could do this? Where could I look? Do mountains offer freestyle coaches?

Most mountains have freestyle teams that have coaches, also the mountain schools offer a great way to progress but cost a lotta $$

Well a cheap porogram is anywhere under $1000 and in NH includes GFA ( Gunstock freestyle academy) used to have a really good coach pat but idk if he still coaches. I skied for them for a year. Other cheap ones Are Sunapee's team and Crotched's. If you save ur money and want the best coaches on the east and some of the best In the U.S then join the waterville team. Used to ski for them for a year. Costs like $2000 for the weekend team but thats without season pass and comp fees ETC. That's expensive but I have a job and to me it was way worth it. The martini's, Clayton Villa and tons of other riders came out of there. hope this helps.

Probably one of the cheaper options would be to just schedule a private lesson at a local mountain. With increased interest in park skiing, PSIA has been pushing freestyle certifications lately, but a majority of coaches have no interest or background so I'd call ahead and make sure your home mountain has them. If you found a ski instructor with an FS2 or FS3 (freestyle certification) than you would probably learn alot for relatively cheap. Also depends on what you're looking to learn. Probably not as good as a camp (ive never been) but as an instructor myself I'd recommend looking into it.

There are only two FS2 coaches for skiing on the east coast( me being one and the other is at Stowe I believe). Where are your from? Your better off finding some friends and skiing with them if you dont have alot of money to spend as coaching and competing and be quite expensive. Hell if you throw me some money ill come coach you for the weekend.

the mountains that are close to me are gunstock, cannon, and loon and some other ones I can't think of. At my school i only know two people who ski and they aren't that good/they dont push you to progress.

If cannon and loon are close then Waterville is pretty close... go there and join the team or just get the poma pass, meet people and push yourself

During the summer is mt.hood open to the public if it is are there any parks open to the public?

Yes it is open and yes there are parks open. Only problem is they got no snow this season so it won't be as good as usual im guessing but here are edits of the summer park.

This is open to the public. I also know of kids sneaking into Windells park cause they have so many fucking kids they don't know who's who with their ski gear on hahaha.

Thanks, I'm planning on a trip,next summer for a week or two. This year i think I will maybe get a coach but mostly try to get out and try to progress.

The only place in NH I know of is Waterville, its a sick park and coaches seem cool but its so expensive. Not sure of other NH places though. Maybe places in VT?
