Summer Setup (Turf)

Hey guys,

I cuurently have a ramp, a rail, and a tube. This setup has been really fun this winter and has really helped me progress. However I would like to continue skiing over the summer. Sadly I cannot afford actual astro turf, I was wondering what the best/cheapest generic turf is. (has to be available at homedepot or lowes). Also if you could include links that would be great.

My drop in isn't terribly big, but its pretty steep. Just went to Lowes to get mine.. Like $20. Water it down and it works great.

You didn't say what turf you used

Also my drop is about 8-9 feet long and at about a 45 degree angle.

Also my rail is 7 feet (I also have a 3 foot extension rail with the same dimensions), my tube is about 8 feet long.

Not to be mean, but you answered your own question. Plastic fencing is the way to go if you can't afford turf.

I was simply wondering what is better. If plastic fencing is cheaper and works well than that's great, but if turf is more expensive but significantly better, than I'll get turf. I just wanted some input from people who have done this before.

Begin the dropin with msnow or plastic fencing then astro turf(from home depo for drop in and landing it cost less than a hundred bucks

This is what i have on my setup it works great i don't even have to water it. As long as your skis have some wax on them it is pretty fast.

Just the short outdoor carpet at Lowes. Also lattice fencing, also available there. Kinda spendy, like $20 too.

I would think about how much you would use it before you either spend a ton of money or go out of your way to get the materials and build everything. A friend of mine must have spent 500+ dollars making a really nice rail setup and didn't use it once last summer. If you really use it a lot it seems like a good project though.
