Tremblant may be pipe-less this year

skibum_, apple, and myself were talking to the park manager at tremblant, as well as a local pro, and they told us that for financial reasons tremblant will not be building a pipe this winter.
financial reasons? yes, its ridiculous, because tremblant=intrawest, and inrawest=buttloads of cash.
anyhow, if your ever in the area, go to ya'ooos pizza or adrenaline boardshop and sign the petitions against not having a pipe this year.

oh, and i forgot to mention, we asked about the park pass issue, because other major intrawest resorts like blue and whistler have implemented this system, and tremblant is having major issues with yetis skiing through the park and not having any ettiquette whatsoever.
so the manager tells us that if we exclude a certain group of people from the park, it is a 'human rights issue' in quebec, because if they were to go ahead into the park anyways, nobody is allowed to physically stop them, as it would be grounds for suing.
damn quebec laws.

uh, why are they shooting like crazy right in the pipe then? I think the point is that it will be there only in february. But i must admit that even intrawest could probably not afford to shoot a superpipe just for 2 months of skiing.

Tremblant is helding some pipe comps, ski and snowboard, they have commitment, and i doubt they will not meet these.

lanks, i wouldn't go on daniel lachance ski shop as an authority. julien and i both live up there, and, considering tremblant is scheduled to hold several pipe contests this season, i bet dollars to doughnuts it will be there dude. besides, although it is a superpipe, it is actually a gigantic hunk of ice.

and thom, i was just thinking that. next time we go to tremblant, you should try to not buy a pass and go onto the gondola anyways. if they stop you, claim your gonna sue them and that its a human rights issue.

eastAR5, i have skied tremblants park 10 or 11 times this year and i agree, its super. but most locals and quebecers hate on it because of the number of tourists that pointlessly slide through it and make it super icy, and i agree with them. but the park itself is niice.

sooo, i take everything back. they were blowing loads of snow today and had the section where the pipe usually is marked off...which means there will be one this year after all.
but i asked the park manager why they initially said that the pipe was a no go. he told me that due to the weather, they werent sure whether a pipe was possible, so they told everyone who asked that there wasnt going to be a pipe, to 'scare' us. which was pretty wierd.

yeah, dumping $100k+ USD, or 20 billion canadian dollars into a pipe that could end up melting before it's done being shaped is always a little nerve-racking for the management. because that's a lot of US dollars. or canadian........ rubles?

Well if you want a pipe so bad....then maybe they should have you buy park passes and THEN they could use that money to build a pipe. Lets use our heads people. Just a suggestion.

well Tremlant dudes intra has the bucks to do it but Ste Anne is owned by RCR and they are havin probs, look like the dragon for the pipe is broke and they may not have a pipe at Ste_Anne and even more worst is that they also own Stoneham and they didn't have the world cup this year so no pipe yet and maybe not till sometime in feb so we are in a bad area at this time and may not have any pipe this season...
The Relais is supose to do one but it ain't done yet either...
it all cuase of the rain this season so far :(

shibby where you at, BTW the park at stoneham ain't bad but due to all the rain they aren't finished it yet. They have a good slopestyle area on the way too but as for the pipe who knows when :(
