Question about rail wax...

My friends and I made a rail this summer, and its not slick enough to grind on with our skis. We constructed it out of steel, and put primer and a yellow paint on it. Can someone please tell me what kind of wax to use on it, so it will be as slick as the ones at ski resorts.
thanks

the paint could be the problem, it'll eventually chip off and just the metal shuold be slideable....as for waxes, not really sure

I had the same problem.. Use rough sandpaper. It worked for me. Now my rail is the best ever. It took some time though..

if it isn't sliding, then it must be a little rusty, sandpaper would work or use an angle grinder with a buffing disk if you have access, it'll be quicker

rub the paint off. at the mountain where i ski they had a rail painted black. two days later they completely removed the paint because it was unable to slide
