Are those really cult movies? I mean Wes Anderson gets nominated for Oscars every year he makes a movie now and everybody and their momma say they like the Big Lebowski

Rushmore is definitely considered a cult movie same with bottle rocket. Pretty much anything on criterion could be considered a cult movie.

My friend hates it cus when we were seniors in highschool during the last semester every time a teacher showed a movie it was Ferris Bueller so we ended up watching it like 8 times in 3 months

Most of these barely classify as cult classics. Pulp fiction? 2001? And especially the big lebowski...are all very famous, very popular movies.
