MLJWould you like to pay $30 a month to use NS? No??
DobberThe Virtika ads with the girls showing skin got me in deep shit at school. They might block NS now.
jlens05i cant tell if you're serious of not, cause its sad but actually kinda funny.

MLJShut up ya moron. Also quit typing in all caps. Also this has been discussed a number of times. Would you like to pay $30 a month to use NS? No?? There you go.
Mr.BishopWe need to figure out how to really raise the budget of guys like the Tabarnak Pack, Hood Crew, Inspired. Sponsor support is sometimes OK - but without DVD sales its really hard for these guys to do well.
Mr.BishopI mean yes, it'd be ideal to cut down on ads. $30 per month is excessive though, I bet if I actually rant the calculations we could offer a really nice ad-reduced model for like $2-$4 / MO and then Ad-Free for like $6-$12. Sort of depends on what we want to do with all of it.
What I would REALLY like to do is come up with a model where you guys pay subscription, get shitloads of all-you-can-eat video, and then dump all that cash straight into video producers' budgets.

VinnieFa very simple way that could easily garner a good chunk of change for the well liked producers would be to have a 'donate' button on the NSTV page. But make it small and unobtrusive and be able to donate using paypal or something without the page redirecting so you can do it while watching a video (just a small pop-down below the video). I bet more than 99% of viewers wouldn't donate, but even if 0.1% donate $1 then content like Mashed Potatoes who can get 10k views per episode might get another couple hundred bucks per season. Might sound like chump change but that could easily add up to overall be a good chunk of change spread out over the entirety of NSTV.

MLJI think making NSTV a much more official subscription service would be awesome. Pay like $5 a month or something, and have tons of available content. Then give as much of the earnings as possible back to the contributors, so that you get an endless loop of awesomer videos available to us. Thoughts?
Mr.BishopThe main question begs - would people actually be willing to put money towards projects they love, or a system that gave them super sick content?
VinnieFpersonally, no. I wouldn't pay a mandatory fee to watch online content. unless it was a very minuscule fee. I think the same goes for the majority of users. I mean, there are still more people who torrent than who use Netflix, and Netflix is quite the small fee to pay for the vast amount of content you get. It would probably have to be no more than $1 a month. Even then you might lose more money through less ad views than you'd get from a subscription.
I would, however, definitely donate a few bucks here or there for some of my favourites like Real Skifi, Tabarnack Pack, etc.
