Filming rails with Gopro

So I've been filming lately but all of my shots look fairly unprofessional. Wanted to know some tips for making a better shot on rails specifically with a gopro. What is the best angle for filing rails? Do I need to get like a fisheye lens or other lenses to enhance the shot? I'm just using a Gopole to film with. AND YES I USED THE SEARCH BAR.

It could be the camera itself. If it is less than a hero 3 black, the quality is going to suck... a lot. Otherwise just get creative with your shots, shoot the front side of the rider instead of the backside. Be as steady as you can. Also the majority of the professional look you are looking for is in color correction and post production.

The gopro is already pretty wide angle, a fisheye on it would look ridiculous and a little awkward. Try it if you get the chance though!

The older HD models are totally good. Just film in 720 at 60fps.

To OP get low, get close, very close. Just pretend to be Shane Mcfalls and you're on your way to success

If you have a hero 3 black or higher, you should definitely try filming in 4:3 (1440x1080).

Figure out your settings yes^. Film closer and try follow cam shots or a steady mount with a good filmer. I cant express how much better they work the closer they are to the skier

idk man, my buddy has the really cheap one that is like $100 dollars and it freezes and the battery life sucks but it shoots great video

The older gopros definitely can capture hd video and high frame rates, but the white balance is crap and so is the sensor (low light/high frame rate footage is super grainy), unless you can color correct like Abe Kislevitz the video won't look that great. The new gopros have a much better sensor and the video looks much more realistic.

If you can't film steadily with a gopro standing. Try and get moving shots I'm editing gopro footage now and at least for me it look much more shaky when standing. And film with the gopro upside down. Go to capture settings and change the up direction.
