3 or 4 shots were darker and some of the sound had a bit of a harsh cut off and that's just due to my personal fault because I saved the rendered file over the original file so I couldn't fix it after I caught it.

FYI all you have to do is put [ video][/ video] (with no spaces) around a video link and it embeds.

CameraWiza different kind of edit them most of the videos I've seen. I want to step it up and keep progressing and would like to know what I could do better. Should I buy like a 2.8 lens rather than shoot on a 4.0-5.6 to get a smaller depth of field to really blur the background or should I move away from these edits and only do them every so often?

First of all, it didnt seem different to me, at all. Classic edit with a slow song, heavy beat and slowmo footage?

Second, this question bothers me so much. What do you mean blur the background like on follows? good luck, you need a 50mm a steady hand and an absolute 6th sense for distance from a person AND then you have to execute. I and many others have tried this before and what you're imagining is dope but just buying some lens will not do it for you. What bothers me mostly here is you think a shallow DOF is progressing your video, its not, its digressing.

if you wanna do something thats cool and different, do something youve never seen before (apparently thats what this 'edit style' was but it seemed typical to me) but there is no doubt the shots weren't 'different' or 'something no one has done before'. It takes awhile to really find something different, but people do it.

Also nothing about this edit said "story" to me, i dunno if its something you and your friends understand, but i saw a shot of a chairlift, skiing and then two people ran into each other.

Few things I would like to touch on. I've seen were people have everything behind a person completely blurred but everything in the first 20 feet is super crisp, that's kind of what im trying to say. I know this edit isn't different but it's different to me and have not seen one thats slow like this in a while on NS (there probably are tons of them but I don't see every video all the time) and about the story thing... I said I tried haha. I'm just wondering like should I be getting different angles or what would make this edit better.

Sounds good, I'd like to clarify, I'm not saying it cant be done, but its extremely difficult.

1.) A couple of the opening shots were meh IMO, there were some much heavier tricks consistently later on that I'd like to see at the start to get my attention.
2.) Maybe a bit more warped speed instead of a constant slow motion, adds a bit more emphasis on tricks instead of just having a slower mellow vibe.

It was all filmed pretty nicely and had lots of interesting shots I just wished you played around with warp speed more.

awesome edit but I think there should be a part in every ski edit where its not just slow motion and the pace gets faster and music and like more hype but overall good edit

Sorry ramp speed is what I meant. I thought it would have fit alright. You could've had regular speed as approaching rail and riding away and ramp it down for entire trick.

Not necessarily every trick, just the ones you see fit.

Also, playing the trick at full speed lets you use the sound of hitting the rail which usually works out pretty good again IMO.

Essentially what I'm getting at is incorporating full speed, ramped speed, and slo mo.
