Turf hill in yard

Ok so i already have a hill in my backyard a jump and a rail. What should I do fro the drop in? I was going to put down turf ontop of the grass, but i am worried that it will move when i ski over it. Has anyone had this problem?

There isn't much point putting turf over grass, you want a solid layer in between.

I've put turf over grass with tent stakes but you can get much more speed and efficiency if you staple the turf to plywood.
