Finally saved up for a touring set up!!!!

So here is what i have so far:
Pollard opus (kinda a dream ski for me although i haven't tried it, i've heard only good things and i have the sfb before it got slimmed down and love it but its missing a huge section of edge and i want something with rocker)
Marker duke (Wanted something pretty robust but open to alternatives, i've never really researched touring bindings a huge deal)

How easy is it to tour with regular alpine boots, i'm not looking to do huge ascents to begin with?

Also are telescopic poles a necessity?

I've only ever skied slack country/hiked before so this is kinda new territory for me.

telescopic poles arent reeeeally a necessity. you'll get away without them

you definitely don't need telescoping poles and alpine boots work just fine if you are running dukes or guardians but they're definitely less comfy/efficient

Fine, that's how most people who come into touring with a skiing background as opposed to a mountaineering background start. Yes, it won't be as comfortable, easy or efficient as touring in a pure AT boot, but it means when you jump in a pair of boots with a walk mode, you'll fly up. When you're starting out a TLT6 or F1 Evo would just be overkill, especially if you're touring on 118mm ski mountain with 2.8kg bindings.

No, don't bother, they're expensive, they break and they're pretty unnecessary. Just move your hand up and down you pole as you need, maybe throw some zinc tape or a tennis racquet grip on it if you want, but to be honest, it's not worth the effort. If you have a pair of extendable trekking poles then by all means use them, but don't rush out and buy an £75 pair of poles especially.

thanks for the help guys. cheers joey unfortunately i pulled a hamstring today so won't be able to make the most of the snow in scotland much
