As a community, including lady gabber, Newschoolers, and the ski industry as a whole, we've talked about what the hell we're going to do to prove that we can shred harder than the boys.
In a few weeks, I'm meeting up with some friends to create some badass lady content. I think the future of our sport, and showing everyone what we're capable of starts by the content we put out. When girls begin to raise our media bar, everyone else will have to follow.
(An excerpt)-- "Why don’t we put money into the creative aspect of freeskiing? Everyone loves Maude and look how she has gotten her attention, awesome edits showing her style. If chicks start posting edits and getting the attention they deserve, more girls are going to be inspired to do the same, and the snowball effect begins. We start the grassroots movements and bring it up through creative aspects."
During the next year, I hope to create more opportunities for all of us to put out more content, and hope that my trip this march is a stepping stone for that. BTW, huge s/o to Katrina for always pushing for this progression. It's cheesy, but I think we owe it to Sarah to keep doing what she started.
I encourage you to go follow 'girlsdoshred' on instagram, I'll be promoting my projects and others as time moves forward of girls doing boy tricks. and definitely taking submissions, this is our community and we have the chance to do something great.
cheers to the future, lets blow some minds ladies.
