the technique for doing down rails is basically the same technique you would use for flat rails, except you really need to focus on keeping your weight evenly distributed on both feet.
All you need to do is pop onto the rail, land with your legs about shoulder-width apart, and ride out the rail with your shoulders over your knees (to keep weight even on both feet). as long as you commit to the rail, you will be fine. good luck!
