Whippit vs. Filthy Rich

Hey guys I'm going to be in the market for skis at the end of this season/summer. I'm looking at the Whippit and Flithy Rich. I live on the east coast, ski 80% park, 20% all mountain. 80% rails, 20% jumps. I am 5'7", 120 pounds, and will be 15 at the time of purchase. Cost is a pretty big factor as well. This is my 1.5th season skiing park and my best rail trick is oppo foot, pretz 270 out, and my best jump trick is a 360. For all mountain I'm probably a type 3 skier and like to charge everything. I'm looking for a durable ski that will last me at least 2 seasons if not more. Thanks guys. If you have any other ski suggestions let em rip.

id have to say the whippits just cause I would think theyd carve a bit nicer for east coast all mountain (filthys have more rocker and are more of a 100% park ski) and J skis have some of the best customer serves out there... but honestly I don't think ud be disappointed in either one, they seem to be the two most popular park skis on NS right now.

Um just cause filthys have more rocker doesn't mean they don't carve hard. Some of my favorite skis to carve around is rockered skis. And park skis can carve pretty hard as well.

But I do have to agree and say whippets. Just because you said price is a factor and whippiys are 520 instead of 600. Also j has amazing customer service, but ON3P seems to be more durable. Both are great, but with price as a factor, and with j having good customer service, I'd say the whipits in the long run.

sorry, not saying that FR don't carve hard just saying that the whippits will be better for carving all mountain for east coast.. and probably not by much, they are two good park skis.

Honestly "carvability" will be the same imo. It might be the sidecut that favors the j skis tho. What size do you want op?

Probably something around 175ish, not sure on the exact length options of each ski right now.

At your height, which is similar to mine, I would recommend either 178 whip its, or the 176 filthys.

I have 178 whippits, and i'm 5'9 145lb, and i would definitely recommend them. they are an awesome rail ski for sure, and i've been doing cork 9's on them on 60ish footers and they still hold up great. get J's!

Does anyone know what the actually tape pull length on both of these is? Also which one is lighter weight? Considering the same skis for my next park ski but at only 5'2 the skis weight and actual length are deciding factors. I have 159 k2 recoils which are fine lengthwise and they end up being closer to 163 in actual length, but I wish they were lighter. They also ride fairly short because their rocker which works out for me. If someone could describe the whippet as it compares to the Recoil; stiffness, swing weight, rocker profile and length that would be really helpful.

^^whipit is softer for sure:. Probably sizes pretty close to length listed. They have some rocker so they do ski a bit short. Thick sidewall skis are usually heavier but you get back performance and durabilty and the swing weight isn't all too bad.

whippit is really light as well. one of the lightest for their sizes.
