Dead Skis

Hey guys and gals, I was just wondering how long your skis last before they feel dead (lacking the pop they once had).
I have some Line Afterbangs that I've used for a season and half but they feel dead now. Is this average? Do the Afterbangs just suck? Am I too hard on my gear? Let me know your thoughts and how long your typical ski last.

I am also looking at new skis to buy. I'm looking at the K2 Shreditor 92 vs. Line Chronic vs. Moment Vice (buttery all mtn skis) or 4frnt Wise vs. Head Caddy vs. Fischer Nightstick (stiff comp. skis). What do you all think about those skis or do you think I should look at other skis?
btw I'm pretty light 5'7 and 135lbs.

mmmmmm depends how you ride them. Define "Dead" though, I personally like the feeling of an older ski.

Rossignol S5 2010, broke them in half on a shit-fuck day. Did not fall of anything, noticed something weird and they were split at the binding.

Rossignol S3 juib 2011, tore the rail out of the ski with one rail too many.

Fisher addicts 2008 pro model, complete delamination of the ski

Now that I think of it, blowing up skis is a part of riding, you were just better than the equipment can handle.

I would define dead as no pop or very minimal pop.

My morphics are going on their fourth season 150 plus days. They've cracked it so they've become super soft. It's great fun

I'm interested to see how long my J Skis hold up. I have 39 days on them this year. The topsheets are pretty chopped up and there are some minor core shots, but they are just as poppy as they were before.

bent the tips of my fatypus last year sliding down a chute cause i missed a jump turn. I used to butter into "the seat" a lot. i don't think that i should have don it so much cause they flexed sooooooo hard while in the seat

Season 7 or 8 on my JJ's... they might be a bit dead inside but I don't notice.

I used a pair of K2 Revivals for two seasons and off an on when I do urban and they still work. On the other hand I had a pair of Volkl Ledges that I used for a season before returning them because the edge separated from the sidewall

I have allplays with similar time on snow and they have softened up, but they are just as poppy.

i have never thought about this really, but i guess my 4frnt switchblades became dead within the first week of use. It also became ultra soft, but they are still fun. The switchblade does not have a crazy amount of camber though which is the main reason.
