Ridiculous

Entering grade 11 this year, I excepted a step up in the courses. Throughout high school I have had mid 80s and this year some marks are turning out to be low 70's especially in science. With univeristy coming up I need to fix this. What are some peoples tips for the best possible marks? Or how you handled the transition.

Honestly, organization is everything, the less shit you have to deal with outside of learning the better I improved my grades by just planning more and sticking to a more strict schedule. Helps in every aspect, good luck!

Time management is key. Learn how to manage your time now it will help you in the future. Before I study I always have a "what do I need to get done by the end of this session" list, and I usually don't stop until I get it done. In class work on your note taking skills and the ability to pick out key points from the specific lesson ( very useful in university). For sciences I would say try to understand the concepts rather than memorizing things since you will be able to apply these concepts when given different questions during exams. Other than that I would say be willing to look for help, whether that is from your teachers or your peers. There are also some very smart people on NS so don't be hesitant to ask.

Thanks this helps a lot. I think the understanding concept is the best way to learn rather than memorizing the material

seriously tho, I cant tell you how many times i've spent my night watching ski videos instead of studying. Really fucks you over in the grade department but at least youre pumped for skiing

it appears you live in ontario. if true only grade 12 marks matter so dont worry about it unless you want early acceptance. I basically just scraped by all of highschool and then got good grades in grade 12 and got into every school i applied for so my method does work.

also cheat. if you don't care about what you are learning and you only want the grade than just find easy ways to boost your grade with the minimal work possible. and take classes with teachers that are known to be easy and give high grades. i made the mistake of sticking in classes with teachers with a tougher reputation and had to work much harder than i should have to get grades equivalent to what i could have gotten in other classes.

100% serious, do your homework. It's going into grades and you're going to do it eventually, so why not do it on time so you get full points and also gives you preparation for the test
