UglyboyI know a thing or two about skiing and gear, but what the fuck is early taper and directional taper? Are you referring to just taper? Because taper reduces swing weight along with makes it less catchy in deep snow.
If by directional taper you mean no taper then it's a more traditional ski design used for bigger jumps and it's easier to design a ski with no taper
poopsharkYa, early taper being contact points are moved further in, which is usually the widest point as well (opus/jj). And, directional being a traditional shape with the widest/contact points further out at tip/tail of skis (surface new life). Sorry about my wording.
