We did a 3 day down the madawaska... and forgot our lifejackets and helmets and then spray skirts for the kayaks... we ran every set of rapids, even the MAndatory portage at little niagra..haha, damn that was fun.

that cliff is intense. there are 2 ways to jump it. listen up if you dont want to hit the rocl wall and shread all your skin off:
there is a spot where you can sit with your legs lower than the higest spot you could jump from (got it?) where, if you looked into the water, you could see a round depression smaller than the big one youre jumping into. that tiny depression gives you another foot and a half of clearance. thats inportant because the round circles in the rock are perfect cylinders, and therefore perfectly straight down....ok
the other way, if you ahve the balls, is to get as big of a run possible in the 5 steps you have available, and jump out as far as you can. Ive reached about 15 feet from the rock, but girls usually land from 2- 6 feet away....and some guys too.

The Maddy is a great river to paddle... although I wouldn't follow skipimps actions and paddle without appropriate gear but... def. a gorgeous river to paddle when the levels are rad... I remember paddling that a few years ago in crazy levels and I swear we caught air off the first rapid, which I forget its name...lower maddy... the upper is nice too...
