The west coast is having a horrible season with next to no snow and meanwhile the east is getting pounded. The ski resort with the most snow in the country right now is a tiny little mountain in northern ME called Camden SnowBowl. In a normal ski season most east coast dream of taking a trip out west to get away from the ice, rain and wind. This year it is the opposite. I know several people who moved east this year to ski.

I made an exaggeration about the average vert of mountains in the east to be funny. My point is the same though. Even though we're well below the average snowfall total, as long as we have full coverage I'm happy to be skiing in Utah. I can't say the same for the folks in the PNW. Their situation is just fucking brutal. Take it easy Huck. You're awfully riled up today.

Agreed.

PC had blown snow for those every chance they could get since December. What other part of the resort could they move snow from? There isn't any.

It's one thing to not get a ton of snow... it's another to have NO snow.

Ski areas that were hosting the olympics 4 years ago have zero snow.

Mt. Shasta Ski Park has not opened in 2 straight years, and has only had a month or two of skiing available within the last three years in total... and it's elevation is still higher than just about everything back east. It has snowmaking and it STILL can't open due to the warm weather.
