Boot/shop problems?

Yesterday I was at my local shop dropping off my new skis to be mounted, and they had a pair of b and e full tilts on a pretty good sale (about half off). I was in a hurry, and they only had the right boot on the floor, so I tried that one on, decided to buy them, and had them mount my skis with them. Well they ended up using my old boots to mount my skis, and giving me two right boots of different sizes, and my new boots BARELY clip in. After getting home, I had to go back to switch to the right pair. (28.0) And after skiing them today, I noticed that the left is severely tighter than the right, so I took the liners out. And guess what! The left liner is 28.5 and the right is 28. I really don't know what to do, I'm not satisfied with the service, and I don't know if the boot thing is a shop error or a manufacturer error? Advice?

shop sounds like they suck.
take them back til you get what you paid for or get your money back.
also make sure your bindings are set up correctly for new boot. maybe have another shop do that

You could definitely get your money back because if you got injured and it had something to due with the fact that they set your shit up wrong, you could definitely sue them. They would no doubt give you your money back or fix the problem.
Just go in and tell them what's up.

seriously who the hell buys boots by trying only ONE of them on and without the aid of a boot fitter?

on the bright side, there is no real difference in the actual liners- they are only heat lasted to be slightly slightly narrower. no thickness differences between whole and half size. Once you get them properly heat molded, they will be identical and fit properly. The boot fitter there should have done this for you anyway.

plus, i doubt your feet are the same width left to right. This is also why you should have had a boot fitter look at you. There is a high chance the pressure you are feeling is due to differences in foot width/pronation between left and right.

take them back and ask to see their boot fitter and have it actually fitted to your foot with good footbeds.

*Update* After trying to ski on them for two days, my right ankle bone has been irritated to the point where walking alone hurts, but I went and got them fitted. They are more comfortable, but I won't know if they work until my ankle heals up enough to go skiing.

my advice is take your time when purchasing boots next time. i would talk to that shop about getting that mount for free too since they fucked up and used your old boots. seems like there was a lot of miscommunication on both ends
