A 6 minute speech? I could talk about the shit I took this morning for 6 minutes.

did something very similar to this, professor asked about my sources in front of the class, and told him/everybody that i knew it so well i didnt need sources. Student asked if my presentation will count and the professor said "thats the best thing todo, is present something you already know".

Sick. The time requirement is not a big deal. I could go on for hours about skiing. I just don't know where i'm going to find credible sources for it.

Generally speaking your speech should probably include a point that you are trying to get across. If you're going to do a speech about skiing, and you just get up there and be like "this is a ski, this is Todd Wallnuts, this hill gets lots of pow" people will be left thinking they could have learned all that in 30 seconds on Wikipedia. Otherwise you're basically a TV salesman, and you may as well offer a free stoneware frying pan to anyone who sits through your whole speech without falling asleep.

Assuming your class isn't entirely comprised of skiers, people will also find it a. boring as shit and b. irrelevant. You will find it very hard to talk for 6 minutes in an entertaining manner about the amount of annual snowfall at resorts and why kids on the internet like Saga outerwear. It sounds like a glorified version of show & tell from grade school.

Choose a standpoint and argue it, something like:
Skiing should be compulsory to learn at school
Skiing is a better sport than baseball and football combined
The next president should be a skier, because skiers are chill and awesome and environmentally minded

If you have a ridiculous topic it gives you the opportunity to use humour and also gets people's attention, because they want to hear you try to justify it. It also makes it easy to fill out the time you have available, all you need is 4 or 5 solid bulletpoints and you can easily talk rubbish and explore each of them for a minute or so. Use the SEX principle: Statement, Explanation, Example

I have the same class but the teacher is making us pick our topic from a list. Of course there isn't a "Freestyle Skiing" option. You know... because Black Rhinos are so much more interesting.
