Binding problems

i have a pair of Marker Griffions mounted on my AR7's and i was noticing them pre-releasing more than i would like, they are not that old so i am wondering if i should spend the money and buy a pair of FKS 140's or deal with the griffons. by the way i am 5 11" 160lbs

Check that the forward pressure is set properly and the DINs are right. Take them to a reputable shop and have the tech check them out.

Not worth the money if they pass binding testing. If they don't pass though call marker and bitch them out then buy a pivot/fks

Where were they prereleasing? A lot of people complain about prerelease when really their bindings have been saving their knees. Also check your forward pressure again.

buying fks's will not magically solve your pre-release problems. Make sure all the settings are correct as stated above. Did you mount them yourself? If so, they might not be perfectly lined up, which could be causing the pre-releases. I have ridden griffons for 4 years and have had little to no trouble with them.

yeah pretty much what everyone else is saying take them to a shop and let them look at it. make sure the forward pressure is good. and that your boots arent to worn on the bottom. do not try to do it yourself though unless you absolutely know what your doing

Hmm yeah you definitely shouldn't be easily popping out of that. I weigh 145 and ride 6 in front 8 in back and it works fine for me

according to the din chart if you are a type 3 you should be at a din of 7 and if you put yourself at a 3+ you will be at a 8.5 din. So your din is in the right ball park but the screw closest to the heel track on the heel piece should be flush in the housing while your boot is in the binding.

This still isn't 100% safe until you binding test but it is helpful info. Also are your boot soles worn down enough to throw off a binding test?

Im 5'9" 150 and my griffons couldn't hold me in. The toe piece got less and less stiff until the point where it would bend upward and I could just rip my boot out of the binding. I got some STH2 WTR13s and they have been super solid for almost two seasons not pre releasing once. I would recommend the STH2s. Dont have experience with fks 140s but definitely get different bindings.. pre release/sketchy bindings = death.
