Stuff to do instead of ski?

I enjoy the four months in Michigan we get to go skiing but there are those other eight that I spend looking at a clock. Every summer I sit around thinking about what to do that doesn't involve snow and it's getting pretty hard. I was wondering what everybody else does to keep busy besides whack off.
