Why skiing is better.

This post will prove indefinitely that skiing is superior to snowboarding.
Preface: this is a familiar site all over america.


As a skier i have never once wished i was on a snowboard, id be hard pressed that they would enjoy taking off their boards and hiking more than skating up the hill on a pair of skis. Well, its no surprise its a dying industry.. Also, split boards are whack, you know you just want to ski all the time, stop pretending. So skiers, no longer shall we wait at the top for snowboarders, beginner snowboarders should be cut off while exiting the lift at any possible opportunity. Together, we can rid the hills of the scourge, then move our focus to texans..

i tried both (i was forced to try snowboard) and i prefer skis, especially for flat slopes and getting on and off the lift

Snowboarding is the tits for rails and powder. There's so many different ways to slide a rail on a snowboard. You've got frontboard, backboard, 50-50 switch and regular, blunts, tail slides, and reg and switch nose presses and 5-0's. Skiing's mainly just got 2 ways of sliding a rail and maybe one foots and brokens but not many people are doing those. Skiing does have more crazy switchup and 270 combos but I feel like after a while those get old.

Not really. I guess on boxes you can. Theres only a handful of skiers that can do legit presses and hold them.

^The only features you can do snowboarding style 5-0's and nosepresses on would be boxes for the most part and you can kinda do 50's on big tubes. Skiing tail and nose presses can look cool but hardly anyone can actually do them holding the slide through the whole rail except for henrik and a few others.

Yeah but today there was pow day at my home resort. Me and a buddy were 5th chair but got first tracks. Wanna know why? Cause all the snowboarders in front of us were doing up bindings while we took off and for first tracks. Booyah. I have friends who snowboard and have nothing against them, but skiing is better.

I started as a snowboarder. BY CHOICE. The only people who care which is better are over compensating for something. Cough you've gotta tiny penis op cough. Who cares really? It's all about having fun.

Look at X-Games Big Air this year. Most of the snowboard runs didnt land at all. So easy to wash out. And the flips dont look as cool in my opinion. There are so many more possibilities for grabs with skiing. However, a tweaked out stalefish on a snowboard looks sick.

Can't find the X-games vid right now.. but I've seen a snowboarder go from a horizontal axis spin to a vertical axis spin mid-air. Never seen a skier do that.

I don't think a trick that most people(anyone other than Andy) can only do on a flat box really decides much.

I agree that skiing is generally cooler looking on jumps once you get to complex rotations(some of halldors tricks are the exception) and probably has more variety of grabs. There's some really cool snowboard grabs though: method, tweaked stale, Indy tucknee,...

I would also venture to say that it is alot easier to learn basic rotations on a snowboard.

I snowboard and ski and honestly if you're bothered by the 5-15 seconds it takes to strap in then snowboarding is definitely not for you.

Meh who cares. You can do 180 and 360 pretzel combinations and you still have all those other tricks.

And don't get me wrong I'm not hating on skiing, I think both are sick as hell, this is more aimed towards the 13 year old "skiing is so much cooler, you cant do 3 switchups on a rail" crowd
