Okay so I was trying to just flat out spin 360's while just skiing. No jumps, just spinning. I was talking to this guy and then this little snowboarder who was like 14 comes up to me and says "You're talking about buttering right?" Is that actually buttering? Isn't a butter when you go off a jump and you spin of the tip of your skis?

Yeah, but like all I'm doing is just flat out spinning. This snowboarder was like " You mean nosebutter right?" so that's why I was confused. I didn't go off a jump and spin on my tips I was just skiing and just decided it would be fun to spin 3's on the bunny hill.
A butter on skis is a rapid revert followed by shifting your body ahead or behind your skis to lift the opposing tip. The butter 3 is the continuation of the revert into a rotation while holding up the initial tip. Example: Mikael Deschesnaux (sorry spelling)
