recently i did my first backflip on skis (video on my account) I realized that flipping really takes no skill what so ever and is all about not being a pussy. I know this is a fact because my friend proceeded to try, backed out half way mid flip and broke his wrist. What are your thoughts on the fear of flipping and how you have to commit?

a guy i know has never done a backflip. period. one day he decides to just chuck one off a back yard booter and completely eats onto his neck. think before you do stupid shit like this

I would not say that flipping takes no skill but a lot of it is commitment

I think it depends on what flip you are doing but commitment is really important. Some definitely take more skill than others. Having good air awareness definitely helps too

I know kids who cant ski glades/trees and powder well and are overall not good skiers but still throw backflips and sketchy 3s. Skill helps but isnt need for flips

Someone told me that in slopestyle comps that backflips are scored the same as unnatural threes if that puts the difficulty into perspective

Anything in skiing takes SOME skill but it's a relatively easy trick compared to peoples fears regarding it.

I was able to throw a solid back flip while I was still throwing sketchy ass threes. I definitely take some skill, buts it's mostly about commitment.
