Yeah, I bet! I have a feeling that the rams are going to be way tough this season.

The Cowboys pick was nothing glamorous. I wanted them to end up with Melvin Gordon but I think a solid corner back is just as needed, if not more, and we didn't have to trade up to make that happen. So I'm happy with it. The guy seems like a good kid too.


Anyone else notice how badly Roger fucked up Mariota's name?

I'm happy the dolphins got a top WR prospect. Kind of wanted them to trade down and get Perriman, being a UCF grad and all that would have been awesome.



UCF with two back to back years with a first rounder is awesome. I know most other schools do that very often, but we dont, so whatever.



The titans are morons of reports are true that the Eagles were willing to trade everything for their pick.

"While Chip Kelly said he wouldn't mortgage the future for Mariota, his former Oregon quarterback, the Eagles coach offered two first round picks -- presumably this year's No. 20 selection and next year's -- a third rounder, Fletcher Cox, Mychal Kendricks and Brandon Boykin, and possible more, according to an NFL Network report."

You are stupid to not take that deal. Trade down, take the Bryce Petty and go from there.

Love the Patriots pick. Needed a replacement for Wilfork, got a player with athleticism similar to Dominic Easley but the size of VW. Thank god, the kid is vicious.

How moronic is Grigson of the Colts? They have glaring needs elsewhere and took a carbon copy of TY Hilton. Give me a fucking break hahahah

I like the Vikings picking Waynes...we have Rhodes who can cover the number 1s in the division, Waynes should be nice opposite him. Zimmer loves cornerbacks and if Waynes pans out having two corners who can man up letting Harrison Smith run freely at safety will be nice.

I'd like to see a lineback/possible safety and an offensive guard/tackle combo in the next rounds....be cool if we could get a deal to get Landon Collins or possibly Randy Gregory even with his "issues".

I'm starting to feel really good about going tight end with our first rounder. Hopefully he'll turn out to be a pro bowler and one of the best tight ends/receivers in the game someday.

but honestly i think you can get better value at 10 than gurley... coming off the acl surgery he wont be ready right away and recent history says you can find great running backs way later in the draft.

true, but Gurley has the talent to be the next AP. he has the potential to alter the course of a franchise. If he's on the board, you have to take him. ACL is no big thing anymore, AP ruined that notion.

I'm still deeply upset that Marcus Lattimore could never recover. honestly, he might be my favorite CFB player ever.

AP is an extreme outlier when it comes to ACL recovery. it's still a big injury, but if he sticks to his rehab (which he will because he has NFL PT people working with him now) and his mental game is still there, he will be fine

Oh no doubt about it. He was a physical specimen that altered the expectations for ACL recovery. No doubt it's a big injury, but it's far from a career-ruiner like we once thought.

pretty decent draft for Detroit. liking Abdullah a lot, the lions will surely need a pretty versatile back that puts up decent numbers. more of a defensively-minded draft, though. doesn't mean its awful, one thing that kept that team in the playoff race last year was that strong D-line, hoping they can keep the same magic going.

What do you guys think of the Brady punishment?

Couple things I don't get is...how do you punish someone for "probably" deflating balls.

Also in that report it said Bellichk, Kraft, anyone else had nothing to do with it, aside from Brady and two ball boys...so I don't understand the taking away of draft picks and million dollar fine.


Last year during a game at TCF bank in December it was cold as shit, the Vikings were placing the footballs by heaters, which is a direct violation of the NFL rules the same as deflating a football, it gives you an edge because a warm football is much easier to throw. All they got was a typed letter from the NFL saying don't do it again.

The NFL really sucks when it comes to punishments, no wonder why teams/players just do what ever.

I dont even like the patriots, but i dont get how they coulld even say he probably had something to do with it. I didnt read the report but from what ive heard in articles theres literally no evidence against him? It sounds like theyre just punishing him for not giving up his phone and email.

I also cant believe they took draft picks if its just brady at fault and not the owner or coach. Brady is obviously going to appeal it and i wouldnt doubt if the suspension is shortened

Also goodell only cares about public opinion. Rice was suspended 2 games until that video came out, everyone was outraged so goodell lengthened it. Then this report came out and he just waited until the publics reaction could be gauged. The punishment should have been decided before the report was public and announced at the same time it was released. The nfl is turning into a joke

Now people will call me out for being a homer here, but let me preface this by saying that TB should be punished, just not to this extent. And the punishment for the team itself is both unjust and unfair.

But lets just look at how BADLY the NFL has messed up:

1. The NFL has NEVER cared about tampering of footballs until now. Minnesota and Carolina were both caught using a heater on footballs during a game last season and in 2012, the Chargers were caught using a sticky substance on their balls as well.


2. The NFL KNEW about the potential issue during the November match-up, but did nothing about it until the AFC Championship Game. (Do I sense a hint of an agenda arising?)

3. The statement by Troy Vincent and the NFL that the Patriots did not cooperate is wrong. The Wells Report on page 23 notes that the Patriot provided "substantial cooperation" during the investigation.


4. The NFL has cherry-picked pieces out of the Wells Report. Walt Anderson was unable to recollect important information regarding which pump he used during the game day (see page 52),but he believed that he chose the one that did not show tampering. Somehow, the NFL decided to chose the pump that yielded the PSI that showed tampering...

Now, I could go on about the hypocrisy of the NFL but I think the point is well shown here. The NFL had a narrative it wanted to prove, and it did so. But in doing so, it has made itself look more incompetent than ever before.

There are a number of reasons why the "Deflategate" investigation and punishment were an absolute hatchet-job by the NFL.

1. Integrity of the game does not matter to the league. They create rules to cater to fantasy football and increase popularity, all while denigrating the final product.

2. The NFL not notifying the Patriots prior to the AFC Championship game is an admission that deflating the balls provided a marginal advantage at best. Knowingly allowing one team to play with an advantage over the other is not in the best interest in the integrity of the game.

3. The report was clearly conducted with a bias leaning away from the Patriots. Any ambiguous or borderline evidence was interpreted in the league's favor and not looked at without any pretense.


4. The league hired Exponent, a firm known for producing results the buyer wanted vs what is actually true, to debunk the Ideal Gas Law and its effect on footballs. Exponent is most famous for finding that "second hand cigarette smoke does not cause lung cancer".

5. The officials did not record air pressures before the game and bullied Walt Anderson into his testimony. They were not provided with an accurate baseline. Exponent used the Colts balls as a control group, not knowing the actual air pressure of the balls.

6. The NFL is essentially equating deflating footballs to playing 4 games without Tom Brady. They are stating that deflating footballs gave the Patriots a 4 game advantage over the rest of the league. Yet, they still knowingly allowed them to play with deflated balls in the AFC Championship, an admission that the advantage was minuscule.

Should Brady be punished? Absolutely. Should it be 4 games? No chance. This investigation was initiated by NFL officials with anti-Patriot slant from the beginning. Every quarterback does something to gain an advantage. Every team does it to some degree. Any objective football fan does not care about this and has the presence of mind to understand the advantage was minimal. Fucking hackjob by the NFL.

Washington and Dallas front-loaded contracts in an uncapped year that would have had an effect on the competitive balance of the league. Both teams were docked cap space that they were allowed to allocate to the 2012 and 2013 cap years as the team saw fit. The teams knew beforehand and were warned not to cap dump in the uncapped year, but they did it anyway. It is widely known that all 32 doctor footballs in some way, shape, or form. The suspension length has no grounds or legitimate basis, nor does it have precedent. The fine is 40x what the league rule-book recommends be the minimum. The Skins didn't "spend too much money in an uncapped year" they altered and front-loaded contracts in a year they made a run at RG3 to attract big name free-agents and make their contracts manageable, after the league mandated they not do that.

"[T]he NFL instructed teams not to use the uncapped years as a way to dump money in order to ensure that cap numbers in years with a salary cap would be lower.

And there’s currently a rumor making the rounds that multiple teams will be smacked for doing just that: using 2010 as a cap dump aimed at either keeping the numbers manageable in 2009 and previously, or in 2011 and subsequently.

It widely was believed in 2010 that the Cowboys and Redskins had worked the system to take full advantage of the absence of a cap.

"According to the sources, the deductions are not termed as violations, but are part of a recent agreement the NFL and the players' association made to raise the salary cap number while preserving benefit increases and the performance pool."

Two teams blatantly circumvent a league-wide mandate NOT to treat an uncap year as a cap-dump and get punished for it. The year was uncapped for a reason, to add incentive to increase in player benefits and increased salary cap in the year following the expiration of the CBA.

One player circumvents a rule, something that has widely become standard-operating procedure for all of the 32 starting quarterbacks after the QBs negotiated in 2006 for the league to allow them to handle balls pregame.

What you brought up isn't even in the same stratosphere. Your team got caught manipulating millions of dollars in cap space after being told not to by the league office. Front-loading contracts and dumping bonuses to the tune of $20M lump-sums in one year has the ability to alter the competitive landscape of the entire league, if only two teams are doing it.

Any objective football fan understands the absurdity of a 4-game suspension for being mildly involved in the air pressure of footballs. You are not objective, therefore your input is not valid. I am a Patriots homer, I will be buried in my Tom Brady jersey, but I have the ability to look at this somewhat objectively. Tom Brady should be suspended, the Patriots should be punished, because they broke a rule. They got caught, fair or not. Take the punishment and move one. But this punishment transcends reason or logic.

I'm sorry, man, but you're just flat-out wrong. No two ways about it. You can hate the Patriots all you want , but that only makes your opinion less valid. Every single team has a history of cheating. The Patriots openly cheated in 2007 and were caught and punished. They circumvented a rule again this year. But if you legitimately believe those two acts had a tangible effect on their championships, you are an absolute fucking moron.

teams are doing their summer workouts, camps and shit like that. how does everyone like the looks of their teams so far?


staffords showing glimpses of better accuracy, offense is looking real strong but still have worries about the D-line. although Detroit did receive an above-average rating despite not having suh's presence on the field and locker rooms anymore.

if ap can give us a good season I can see the viqueens making a wildcard spot, they have a tough schedule though. he is exactly what bridgewater needs to really progress and become a good qb.

im really interested to see how the eagles are gonna do. I think this is bradfords last chance to show everyone if he can be a legit nfl qb or not. if sanchez can have a good year in an offense i would think that bradford could finally have a breakout year, if he stays healthy. will also be interesting to see if it was the cowboys o line or if murray is really an elite rb.

Really interested to see how Murray does. As a cowboy fan. I'm also curious to see how Randle does this year. I'm putting zero faith in Mcfadden.

I CANNOT wait to see what Chip Kelly does this year. I have been a fan of Chip Kelly since his Oregon days. I thought he was a genius not only as an offensive coordinator, but a head-coach in general. his coaching tactics are unique and incredibly compelling. players seem to love him. he's a humble guy, does a lot for his community in New Hampshire, is incredibly passionate about the game of football... how could you not love him?

the move the eagles have made this off-season are unbelievable. DeMarco Murray, Darren Sproles, and Ryan Matthews IN THE SAME BACKFIELD. Does anyone realize how insane that is? god forbid Matthews is healthy for 16 games this year. they are lethal. Bradford has a big arm, and they have serviceable backups. They should be exciting at the very least, whether they win 13 or win 3

I think highly of Ryan Matthews. But you've seen how many carries Demarco can handle. Do you really need to worry whether or not Matthews is healthy when you have Demarco?

true, but this season was an anomaly. there are all sorts of statistics supporting that he can't feasibly carry the ball that much in the coming seasons without breaking. Since 2010, Matthews has started an average of 10 games per season. His health is an issue.

To save face he has to hope that theyre bluffing about federal court, thete is no way a judge will look at the evidence and uphold this. Unless there is some evidence out there we dont know about.

There have also been reports saying that other owners have been pressuring Goodell NOT to reduce the suspension. Dunno how true these reports are, but if they are true then it seems like a sign that Goodell doesn't want to make the people who sign his paycheck not named Bob Kraft mad. My guess? It's guys like Jerry Jones and the Rooney family who have to play the Pats in the first four weeks of the season and don't want to have to face Tom because they're scared shitless of him, as they should be, because when when Tom does get back, you know he's going to be out for blood.

And yeah, the NFL is just becoming a fucking joke all around, and seems to be going the same way as the NBA, which used to be a great league, but is now also a fucking joke.

Any other Pats fans out there: boycott. Don't watch football, don't go to the season opener, and tell everyone else you know not to, either, until Tom is free.

Last year viqueens vs carolina in mn, cold as fuck. Both teams got caught heating up the hard as fuck balls which is against the rules. They were told thats not allowed, no punishments. Hell i bet hardly anyone even knew it happened. Thats tampering with footballs, way to be consistent badell

Don't forget about the time that, ON NATIONAL TELEVISION, Phil Simms talked about Aaron Rodgers literally telling him that he tries to get away with over-inflating footballs. Seems like that's much more solid evidence than "more probable than not had a general awareness" of wrong-doing, but of course the NFL and Goodell don't even glance at Rodgers.

Sorry for the caps, but this whole thing is so ridiculous it's one of the few times it seems necessary.

And now Bob Kraft has come out and ripped Goodell and the NFL. God bless that man.

The thing that amazes me most about this is that people hate Brady and the Patriots so much that they're willing to turn a blind eye to the atrocity that is this entire scandal and are telling themselves whatever they can to convince themselves that this whole thing is fair and just and that Brady deserves to burn, even though there's literally no hard evidence that he did a single thing wrong. You would think people would realize how desperate the NFL is that their best argument against Brady, and the most sound reason they've come up with to punish him, is that he got a new cell phone recently. Talk about a case of being literally blinded by hatred...

What's he fighting about? I thought the whole upholding of the 4 game suspension was based on Brady instructing an assistant to destroy evidence in the form of a cellphone after investigators requested to view texts.

"Brady denies destroying his phone so that he didn't have to hand it over to the NFL. He says that he replaced his broken Samsung phone with an iPhone after his attorneys told him that investigators would not be given the phone itself.

As for what was on the phone, Brady says that they turned over "detailed pages" of phone records and all of the emails requested by the Wells investigators. They also went to the phone company to retrieve the relevant messages from his broken phone. The NFL acknowledged that last part in the 20-page statement explaining Goodell's decision, buried in a footnote on page 12.

The league declined to work with the phone company to retrieve the details of Brady's cell phone records because it was "simply not practical." That line and Goodell's effort to make it sound like Brady's phone was deliberately destroyed prior to meeting with investigators doesn't instill much confidence in the the NFL's ad hoc approach to disciplining players."
