Hey NS,
I'm going to whis with a bunch of friends in two weeks and I was wondering what the conditions are like. I know they've had a brutal season but is it actually that bad? Also what zones would be good to hit given the little snow there is?
Thanks guys

Depends on who you ask.
Your jaded local moved to the kootenays over Xmas holidays, gave up there and tried revy, and has now ended up in Smithers or Terrace wondering why he ever even bothered with whistler.
The weekend warrior types kept hitting whistler till late January, but have finally accepted that the mountain biking on the north shore really is that much better than skiing this year and haven't looked back.
The powder snobs are still asking where winter is, cause all they see is rain storms and ice crusts from day 1.
The optimistic diehard is out there skiing nice, smooth alpine dust on crust thinking that the season isn't too bad, wondering why every week more and more friends stop returning his calls to meet up and go skiing.
Conclusion: if we get a proper system (or more) between you show up the alpine could be great. If this stagnant high pressure sticks around, the alpine will be acceptable, just wait till the afternoon for things to soften up. If we get another pineapple bringing rain to the top - even the optimistic diehard might throw in the towel for the year.
