So I am driving back home after a failed ski trip up in Duluth and it was just really wanting to do some urban. But, the day before, I know some buddies who went to a certain spot and got busted by the cops and a left with a decent fine. So that turned me off from trying some urban.
I remember reading A Q&A with either Clayton Vila or Cam Riley that encourage the kids to do urban as much as they can to expand that part of the free skiing industry. Now I just remembered, I'm completely broke and the fear of getting busted and stuck with a huge fine straight up took that idea of practicing urban out of my head.
And I don't know this may be a stupid idea and I may get a lot of hate for it, but I was just thinking of ways to encourage more people to do some urban skiing and take the fear of getting a hefty fine out of the picture and I came up with maybe a urban skiing "Bust Fund" account through GoFundMe.com or something where The powers that be on this site would have an anonymous donation tab that goes into the urban bust fund account so kids can worry less about the fine. And maybe the incentive for people to donate would be somewhat like the donation tab towards the Newschoolers site where you get some type of icon after your screen name as well as knowing that if I get busted for street skiing in the future, Newchoolers can help me out! I'm not saying the account run by Newschoolers would pay the whole fine, the fund could just pay maybe half or so. I don't know, opinions?
