I feel like a good jump is the most important thing. A lot of people go for powder, and powder is good, but make sure you have a good jump. A good jump in the park on a spring day is better than some of the jenky stuff some people build in the pow.
RusticlesThis is pretty accurate, a spring day in the park is probably better than some shit powder setup
In your backyard.
Look for a wind lip or something similar that you can hit coming uphill and land on the flats, a little extra kick will help, and the flat landing will keep it from feeling like your falling out of the sky
theabortionatorI agree about the flat landing. Wind lips and decking out on hips are probably the best for learning in my opinion. If you can get 3+ feet of air you just lay it out and if you come close worst case you kind of tip over.
You don't have all that forward motion because it's steep plus you're not dropping down. Like a step up feeling almost accept there's nothing to clear, if you clear the lip you're good.
