Replying to I almost killed a kid today
so, now here in finland a huge three week holiday season has started and i was cruising our jumpline. i dropped in because no one was in sight and aimed for a nice curved stale for a speedcheck. but then i saw this little kid, maybe a 7-year-old, standing in the knuckle collecting his gear. if i hadn't raised my skis, my edges would have hit his throat or head. so then i landed and climed up and yelled to the kid about park etiquette, that if you fall, you go to the side so everyone can see you. i was super pissed to the kid and now i feel bad. like i shouldn't have yelled to a little boy. but he did learn, next time he was on the side of the jump. so this makes me feel like i did the right thing.
BUT did i do the right thing? would it have been better if i told it nicely?
and if you have similar near-miss stories, you can share them as well.
