How to get on a rail

hey i was wondering what way i should get on a rail because i see some people get on from the side and others with one foot on ether side

i hit down and straight rails from the side, but if its a propane tank or an up-rail then i hit it straight.

it depends on the rail, if it's not a ride on rail and you have to jump on it come from the side. If the ramp comes up to the rail you can go straight on.

Depends how the kicker is made. Obviously if the kicker is built below the rail you have to get on from the side. I learned to do rails going straight on because it helps with balance. Some people say coming on from the side is hard but imo its pretty much the same

. Side was easier for me because I never thought I could get my skis high enough splitting the rail and that one would smack it when I was rotating. Watched one video of myself and saw how much higher that the pipe I was and was like "damn that's easy as hell". Stomped the first one and honestly am more comfortable that way now than the sides.

Whatever feels natural. I'd say try both and see which one you're more comfortable with
