Would you be a park rat if you had better terrain?

Ns, do you think if you had bigger or better mountains or terrain to ski on, you would still be a park rat? I think parks kept people who got bored with normal terrain or their mountain into skiing.

Basically, if you had funner natural terrain to ski, would you be in the park more or less?

I still ride the park even when I have good terrain. Better terrain will make it easier to get out of the park but people love the park, so you could put the best terrain/conditions at a mountain and people will still hit the park.

I probably wouldn't spend so much time in park if I had better terrain. When I went out west I took a max of 10-15 park laps and spent the rest of the week exploring the mountain. Honestly I loved skiing that stuff way better than park.

kind of. Now that the east is getting snow I haven't skied a full on park day in a while, but if I ever wanted to be a good bc/powder skier I probably would have drifted into the park to learn some jump tricks anyways.

i used to ski the park back home in Michigan since you could go top to top in 2min and the terrain was boring but now that i've moved to Colorado, i haven't touched a park and would much rather be in the bowls or trees

Midwest mountains are park and trees. But the trees usually don't get enough snow until late January. I would ditch park in a heartbeat if there was better terrain. I'm a lot better at hitting natural features with softer snow. I'm sick of the park life.

Grew up on hot tow rope laps in the park in WI, now I love skiing the mountain, chutes, natural hits and 4200 foot slushy bumpy runs ftw.

In the last few years Ive discovered an incredible amount of unmarked terrain around the mountain. Needless to say I'm no longer board and want to ski park all day. I havnt been in the park once this year

my home mountain is 625 vertical feet with the longest run at 1.6km, so yes, I would prefer to ski outside of the park more often, but can't

Definitely wouldn't be skiing the same way if I grew up out West, but at the same time, I love being a rail rat. But when I have access too good terrain I definitely go and enjoy it, but I still prefer hitting rails by a longshot.

I was a park rat when I instructed at a small shitty hill but this year I upgraded and I've only spent 2 out of 15 days in the park

I ditch the park whenever there is any terrain better than the corn and ice filled gaper fields they call groomers at creek. When I go to gore I lap trees, bumps, and the steeps and try to wherever else I go.

I live in Vail. Unless there is more than 4 inches I prefer to stay in the park though. Its good though to ski more than just one thing

I think all that matters if it there is any snow that has fallen recently. I don't really feel motivated to ride groomers when I can just ride the park. But anything above 2 inches is pretty fun just cruising around.

Ive been spending most of my time outside the park this year since i moved to the mountains and usually only go in the park when im too tired to keep skiing any difficult terrain. As much as i want to be good at park im having more fun pushing my own limits outside the park rather than in it.
