I was reading the 'Skateboarding!?' or whatever it is thread in nsg and realized I found park skiing because of skateboarding. I suppose we could expand this to other sports as well, but I'm curious.
Personally, I've been skating since grade three or four, and I'm 22 now. I've been skiing since I was five, but only started skiing park in high school when I realized it might be a thing. And I think I came to realize that because I figured it must be possible on skis, what you do in skateboarding. Then I found NS and realized park skiing is definitely actually a thing. Prior to me sliding rails on rental skis I had no idea, and was just doing what you do on skateboards on skis.
And, obviously, skateboarding is a big part of my life. Like I said in the other thread and as cliche as it might be; all the art, culture, music and whatever I've been exposed to through skateboarding has made a huge impact on me, and I'd be really curious to see how I'd be now without ever picking up a skateboard.
Skateboarding or something else, who found park skiing via this route? Or did you all do a dub ten out of the womb?
