Hey guys, I'm leaving for Vail next week (inb4: fuck Vail), and I was wondering how my 2013 line chronics would handle the conditions. For those who don't know, they're 92 underfoot. Also, they're center mounted. I don't really plan on skiing park because 1. I'll be skiing with my family, 2. The park is all I really have out here in Philly. I'll be trying to take this ski to the back bowls and the harder portions of the mountain, so I'm assuming I'll be pushing the skis to their limits. My main question is: should I rent some demo's or will I be fine?
My 2014s have a pretty decent amount of rocker from being broken in and don't do too bad in pow, but renting may just be less of a hassle instead trying to bring them, plus fun new skis to try.
Looks like they're not expecting much snow next week besides monday, your skis will be fine. If you had access to every ski ever made, you still wouldn't be on the right pair for the conditions you were skiing ;)
Demoing is always good, even if just for a day. Have fun in vail.
I'm actually from Philly too and I have a place in Beaver Creek and ski in Vail a lot too. I have skiied the bowls in Vail on 81mm and was even fine. (It wasn't the best but I had broken my bindings on my other skis the day before) You should be fine with a 92.
