Hey boys and girls....

We're into the third month of what is one of the most epic contests ever to hit Newschoolers... the GoPro Line of the Winter.

Now, what I'm seeing here is that we've got a lot of snowboard variety in this thing. Skiers... we've been doing OK, but I think that we have the raw horsepower of talent around here to give these guys a run for their money. Hell, you guys can win $1,000 per month, and there's $20k on the line in the end.

So what do you say? Throw in an entry this month, plenty of time left.

I dunno, that street line for snowboarding was pretty awesome. I'd love to see the Real SkiFi crew get something going.

what are the rules regarding editing? I read on the site that no editing was allowed but i noticed in couple of the entries they had parts in the powder like face shots that were slowed down?

slamdunkwhat are the rules regarding editing? I read on the site that no editing was allowed but i noticed in couple of the entries they had parts in the powder like face shots that were slowed down?


Only continuous unedited clips can win.

two things here:

one- it doesnt really looked that slowed down to my eyes, as I watched the slough in the corner of the frame and it seemed to be sliding at a consistent rate.

two- GoPro may edit the footage before they post and the skier probably sumbited the shot as a singular, unedited file.

Still waiting for a response. Did you guys slow it down yourself, or did you say fuck the rules and just pick your favourite clip? It'd be handy to know if we actually have to follow the rules or not (and which are real, and which are up to interpretation.

All of the clips come into GoPro as raw original GoPro clips. Before we put them online we take the liberty to utilize slow motion if the skier/filmer decided to film in slow motion. The clips are cut, colored, and moments are slowed to maximize each clip to its full potential. At the end of the day it's a ski & film competition so if there's slow motion, we'll use it!

If you submit something to us that's already slowed down, we'll ask you to resubmit the original GoPro file, as we have done with every entry. If you'd like something slowed down or played at full speed specifically you can submit that in the comments. Also, we won't slow anything down beyond what's been offered in the frame rate, so if you film at 60FPS we won't slow down more than 1/2 x and if it's filmed in 120, we won't slow down more than 1/4 speed.

Hope that clears things up! Keep the entries coming, a ton of sick stuff is coming through the pipes, but definitely want to see some more creative park/urban skiing from the NS community!

This shit is awesome, and even if you don't slay the biggest line ever, something super fun and creative like this can easily win.

Jespers comp line from today would have taken the money if he entered it and I was judging. Really though, some hot ryder could toss a sick park line together and that would even be quite solid compared to what has been out there... It's $20,000. That's a lot of fucking money.
