Hey NS, I'm lookin for a job this summer and I can't decide what kind of job to look for. So I came here to ask you all what kind of jobs you had/have and what jobs ypu actually like. I don't want a job that's boring as hell like a 9-5 desk job. so whatever you have to share about your jobs and jobs you like or would want to do share it here.

Yes. Yes. Yes. No. Basically all sports winter and summer. Very active and workout/lift regularly. Semi adrenaline junky always looking for some way to have the most fun.

I'm of the opinion that everyone should experience the hell that is food-service at least once. Fortunately for you, you're in high-school and have no "skills", you won't be qualified or find a desk job. Find a busy bar or restaurant and bus tables, you'll hate it but you'll make decent money. If you're a decent swimmer, become a lifeguard at a pool/beach. If you like being outside, landscape. Food-service is your best bet though, restaurants are always hiring.

Work construction. Decent to good pay, lots of overtime and you get to be outside all day.

This. I'd say landscaping, but that's because I can't stand being inside and I like a changing 'office', plus it's physical work, but not crazy hard, break your body physical.

im a lifeguard during the summers. pays well, keeps you in shape, plus they have a diving board so i practice rotations on that. The only problem is that if you fuck up, you are pretty well scarred for life

lift op on the weekends at nights in the winter then I work guest service jobs in the summer all day erry day. got nothing else to do besides collect money and wait for the snow to pile up again.

I work my ass off at a family owned resteraunt (Clancey's, if any of you live in Wisco) and I get paid 4 dollars less per hour than my friend who works at taco bell. People who work in fast food get paid decent for the small amount of work that they do.

A lot of guys in the Kootenays fight fire in the summer or plant trees. you can get a decent wage and make great friends. Others work at grocery stores or convenience stores.

I work on the commercial ships in the summer and take the winter off to ride as much as possible. I found the ski industry to be kinda douchy and biased.

i did "junior rangers" for 4 weeks in the summer maintaining trails and stuff like that for $1000.

You decently good at a sport of any kind? Tell your coach to find you some younger kids that you can coach 1 on 1 and have their parents pay you cash. I charge parents 40$ an hour to work with kids 1 on 1 and I do it 7 days a week. best gig ever

If you're old enough, serving can give you the hours you want (requesting nights and all that jazz) with decent pay for both the summer and the winter. If you work in a busy enough spot you can work part time hours and make full time paychecks.


Once your out of high school, think about summer forest fighting jobs. Lots on homies do fire spotting in Montana during the summer and make enough to do nothing in the winter. Good for an adrenaline junkie plus it's pretty sick job.

I'm a lifty on weekends during the winter. Then this summer I'll be working at a ropes course at one of my local hills.

In high school I worked at a pizza place and at panera. I wouldn't recommend getting into any kind of food making. The pizza place was greasy as fuck and after working 6 days a week for 4 months that shit made my hair smell of pizza and it was nasty. Panera wasn't that bad of a job. I liked it but so many other people complained about it.

I'm a lift mechanic which is one of the few outdoor jobs at a ski hill that has work year round, even the off seasons. It's a dope gig but difficult to get your foot in the door
