so i fucked up, my license expired today and when i went to get it renewed and transfered from washington to colorado, i didnt know that washington is one of like 3 states that doesnt give lawful presence, which is required for a colorado license. so while my parents are expediting my passport/ssn card/birth certificate to me so i can get a new id (unfortunately it probably wont get here tomorrow then the dmv is closed until tuesday), i dont know what i can actually do. please chime in if you've had experience with this. i have my just expired washington id, a photocopy of my valid passport, and my danish residence permit (has a picture of me and my dob) from when i was abroad in the fall (legal form of id issued by the danish government).
will bars/liquor stores accept expired id cards if i can provide alternate forms of photo id (like a copy of my valid passport)?
what are the colorado laws/penalties for driving with an expired id but a clean record. like is there a grace period or anything (some states have this but i wasnt able to find a good answer on google)
