Quick question about a touring ski

Should a touring ski have similar waist to tip width? I have a pair of Icelantic Nomads that are 105 underfoot and 140 in the tip and I was thinking about throwing some adrenalines on them. Would the difference in width cause any problems? Would a straighter ski be better for tours? Any suggestious would be appreciated.

They should be fine, I'm using armada tst which are 100 underfoot with a 136 tip

Depends on its intended use. I would say for a year-round touring ski, something near 100-105mm in the waist is perfect. By "year-round," I mean that it is skied on glaciers in the Spring/Summer and in a variety of terrain and conditions in the Fall/Winter.

For a winter-specific touring ski, I would recommend something between 110-115mm underfoot.

yea width doesnt really matter unless youre going on long tours and are worried about weight and ski performance. just make sure you dont pick a ski that has lots of rocker, other wise youll probly be slipping all over because the lack of surface area touching the snow
