I'm getting a pair of Jskis Whip-Its tomorrow, but I'm not sure what size to get them in. I'm 18 and pretty light 5'8" 130lbs. I've been skiing all my life but only got into park skiing last year. Not sure if I should get the 171cm or the 178cms. The skis I ride now are some really old Salomon Teneighty foils that are 166cm and I feel like they are a little on the short side. Any help?
if you think your 166s are a little short(keyword little) then the 171s should be perfect for you. the 178s would be too big in my opinion. harder to move with them in midair and on rails.
for reference, I'm 19, 5'10" and 146lbs. my current skis are 176 and I feel like they ride just fine. if you're gonna be mainly in the park, you'd probably benefit from a shorter ski (easier to turn, less swing weight, etc.) plus, coming from a 166, a 178 might be a bit of a shock for you. no doubt you could ski them, but a 171 would probably suit your height and skiing style more.
