Today I attempted my first backflip. I felt pretty solid but ate shit cuz my tips caught. I just need some pointers but I think I have pretty solid form.

instead of using the jump as like a slip and slide, you have to pop off of it. (not trying to be rude) i used to do backies the same way and i always over or under rotated. so instead of like leaning back, pop hard off the jump to start your rotation. then depending on how fast and big youre going, or if your coming up short, tuck those legs in if needed. normally try to bend your legs and hips while in the air. i used to make the mistake of just bending directly at the hips and it looks so awkward and weird. so over all- pop off jump instead of leaning back, bend hips and knees, spot that landing, ride away. good luck man.
you got the right idea. on a jump that small don't open it so much. a lot harder to get your feet under you when you open up like that. does look way sicker though
spot the knuckle of the jump the split second before you pop and then flip. it will keep you from flinging it early. jumps under 20 i always pull my knees to my chest, jumps 25+ i lay out.
pop hard off the lip it may seem scary but yolo, once you get that good pop then start tucking and hucking spot your landing and pull you skis forward fast to ensure that you dont catch those bad boys
