Whistler disaster

So I've saved up a shit ton of money last summer to go out to whistler this year to find out the west is complete shit right now so do you think it's a waste of money? I live on the east btw and it's great right now but what should I do about whistler, is it even worth going? I ski the park mainly so I also want to know how they are.

I say don't waste your money. You don't have reservations anywhere? Pay attention to jasper and Banff. If a storm is going to hit there, book your flight immediately and try to get there at the front end of the storm and avoid the "you shoulda been here yesterday"'s.

Park would be okay in whistler right now but if you're going for park and pow I say don't bother.

The parks have been pretty great despite lack of snow. Probably the best rail setup I have seen at whistler in years. But it is currently raining so hard that I will not be surprised if all the rails have melted out and the jumps have disintegrated into nothing. It's supposed to be sunny and hot next week though so it may be worth it then.

We got 80 mm of rain on hill the other night so that should give you an idea of how horrible the weather is

Are there any chances of whistler getting snow? I heard their is supposed to be a storm coming up in the west and I guess I have to go now I don't have any other choice so fuck it I guess I'll make the best of it.

Up high yes, the forecast shows the snow falling above 1700m . Which is alpine only really.

You know, with each passing season in recent times the glacier gets thinner and thinner. Since its pouring rain, I wouldn't be surprised if at one point in the not so distant future we'll be seeing a release on how Horseshoe glacier won't have a solid enough snow pack for the summer season.

I'm pretty much in the same situation right now, I'm thinking about going to hood for the spring pass in march/april but for the end of february I'll clearly take advantage of all this east coast pow.

Personnaly I'll hit some natural snow resorts around Québec and Vermont, east coast pow is awesome this year

If you do this make sure to hit up le massif or mont sainte anne dope trees with pow.

Even at the end of the glacier season this past summer, it was hardly skiable. It was pure ice and mini river all over. I hope this is just a temporary patter. But Im skeptical about that. Perhaps I will be venturing to my homeland again, northern bc....
