DIN Settings

I'm 5'9 and 120 pounds and my DIN settings are around a 4-4.5 and I feel like it's too little. Whenever I butter or hit a jump over 30+ feet my boots pop out of my bindings. What should my DIN settings be?

I'm exactly your size and ride most my skis at a 5.5-6.5, I would take them to a shop to have them adjusted and tell them you are a type 3, maybe type 3+ skier

start with whatever you get from the link above as type 3, if you are still releasing you can try jumping to 3+ but unless you are jumping huge cliffs or hitting the park real hard type 3 should be good!

If you are really unsure, bring em in to your shop and have them set them, most will set at a fairly standard din like 5-7 but its a good place to start.

Highest your din should go at 120lbs is a 7 if your bsl is 271-290 if your bsl is 291-310 highest would be 6.5. Bsl is your boot sole length if you didn't know. It will be on the heel of your boot usually and say a number in mm

just FYI, 3 and 3+ will throw you at the same DIN on any chart in any ski shop.

3+ is the feel good setting. lol

dude 4 is tiny for dins thats like what little kids use!

1 on the din is = 10kg tons you only have 40 kgs holding your foot in place i don't know what type of skier you are but i would pop out of those from like skating over to the lift

i would definitely recommend you to crank them up to like 8 or 9

that's true, weird just read salomon instructions, although dinsettings drops another line on the chart compared to 3 that's what I was thinking, but I'm also assuming shop guys would look at you curious to why one would be asking for 3+
