cydwhitJust like society though you can mature and grow. You have the potential to learn from your mistakes and earn the respect of those around you. I remember absolutely getting torn apart on here when I first joined, now I at least partially figured out the community and I really love and appreciate its members. Or just keep complaining and never improve, I don't care
Anathemanot really.
it's like society if everyone were as bold in society as they are typing anonymously over the internet.
cydwhitReally? maybe it's just me, I say way more in real life than on the internet, I'm much more comfortable saying things then typing them where anyone can find them for years to come.
Anathemai find it hard to believe that you'd tell someone "dude, you're a fucking idiot and completely wrong" to their face, but not type it on the internet.
can you think of a time you raged to a family member about how someone else was a dumbass, but you didn't tell that person straight up? i can. it happens alot.
i strongly believe we're all pretty civil and can pump the breaks in real interactions, but when it comes to the internet and anonymity, we don't really hold back. we can troll, bash, rip into people pretty on a forum..
cydwhitOh no, I totally agree, sort of. I guess I'm just weird.
I think the family member thing is a little different though.
I guess I just realize on the internet that if I say something and then change my mind I'll look like a moron where in real life I don't have that second before I click "post" to think it through. Obviously though everyone treats it differently.
