I recently found a nice pair of line tacs in the snow of the parking lot of my home mountain. They are a little long for my preferences though, and while they were really helpful since it was a pow day and I left my long poles at home I want to cut them down now. I just screwed off the top and the straps but underneath is a threaded hole where the screw attaches. How do I shorten them without cutting off the threads and making it impossible to re-attach the top? Does the thread remove?
The threading should go down pretty far into the handle. I can't remember for sure though. Maybe put a pencil in there and pull it out while running it up the side to see how deep the threading is?
upon further investigation the thread is attached to a plastic thingy. I thought it was glued in at first but it can just be pulled out. Thanks for the help!
