Freestyle poles length?

Hi I was just wondering what size freestyle poles I should buy? I'm 6ft.

Personal preference, theres no right answer. I know guys taller than me that rock poles longer than mine. But if mine are too short I feel off balance. I usually just buy used poles at swaps for like $5 and then cut them down to length

I'm 5'11 and I like a 114cm Scott pole. Call me strange, but that's what I've used for the last 11 years, and that's what I like.

I believe what OP is asking for is pole length for skiing park, and 114cm is waaaaay to long for park, the standard tends to be half the length of your skis however I preffer them a little shorter, my skis are 176's and I rock 75cm poles, cut them mofos down!

I ski in the Rockies, on real mountains. I haven't set foot in a terrain park in over 14 years.

I use telescopic poles for everything now, 105-130 seems to cover all, usually use 110 for park and 120 allround. Just find out what is right for you. I'm your height.

Why do you need shorter poles for park? I don't want to get 75cm poles because when I mountain ski they'll be useless (surely?).

What I wanted to know is where do the poles need go come up on your body (more or less)?

In the past I've tended to not use poles in park but I think I'm gonna try using them because I think they'll give me more balance.

Longer poles can get caught when riding switch. Also just more manoeuvrable when shorter.

Short poles wont catch and pole vault you by your jaw 20 feet into the air.

I use cheap kids poles. They are light and short.

Hey man, even if you aren't interested in some bamboo ski poles, head over to Panda Poles website and check out their size chart. Its pretty accurate and gives you a size depending on what skiing you do.

if youre buying poles to use all mtn then the standard way to size is to hold the pole upside down with your hand under the basket, when the handle touches the ground your elbow should be at 90 degrees. For park as I said before its personal preference. I know guys that have poles so short they have to bend over to make them touch the ground. For me If Im standing on my skis and have my poles at my side my elbows are bent to like, a 30 degree angle give or take. This works well for me in the park and I also shred all mountain that way. My form for skiing all mountain just adapted a little to the shorter pole lenght

Lol so do i bud, just because you ski in the rockies doesn't mean you have to have long ass fucking poles (there are parks in the rockies too! As a matter of fact, Lake Louise's park is fantastic), i agree that for all mountain skiing you need correct length poles, However he's not asking for all mountain poles, now he could have made it a bit clearer by saying whether he means park skiing when he says freestyle, or if he means just overall freestyle throughout the mountain, such as natural hits. But he didn't so we'll just assume he means park pole length seeing as we are on Newschoolers and not http://www.epicski.com...
