Hey everyone -

This is an incredible cause, and whatever you can do to support it will be amazing. Try to bid on something, and if you don't have the cash then please just share that article - or any other - as far and wide as you possibly can. The more people that see it the more support we can help give.

I'm extremely sad about this, but JP's family needs our help and there's no better place to get the message far and wide.

If you don't have money to bid on the bigger items you can also donate any amount you like to go to the Auclair Fund!

Also there is Alpine Initiatives (AI) merchandise (kendamas, facemasks, camping mugs etc...) and proceeds go back to Alpine Initiatives. If you don't know what AI is, it's the non-profit that JP founded in 2008 and the money we raise (I'm the intern) goes back to mountain communities through specific projects and Grass Roots Grants that we award to other inspiring projects.

Anything you guys can do, even if it's just sharing the link like Bishop said, is so appreciated by everyone at AI and JP's family. #WeLoveYouJP

JP was one of the only a few non-Japanese people to be certified in Kendama. I wouldn't call it a fad in this case. He always had one with him and he was constantly showing us at AI, and everyone else in his life, new tricks. That's why we came up with the idea.

Yeah I mean the Kendama is pretty fun no matter how you slice it. Great little time waster, and a lot more in-depth than a paddle ball. :)

Plus - once again - its a great cause overall!

I know a lot of people have been checking in on Jonny (https://www.newschoolers.com/forum/thread/801729/Please-Pray-For-Jonny) who was injured severely not too long ago.

An idea just popped in my head after reading the recent posts on that thread about "doing more" and I think that if NS members wanted to get behind it, we could essentially crowd source the funding (it wouldn't be too hard!) to bid on an Auclair Fund item for him - thus benefiting both JP's family and sending Jonny a physical token of everyone on here sending vibes to him.

It's obvious even through the mere existence of these two threads that the ski community is unbelievably caring. This could be a chance for a lot of people to help both causes in a more tangible way.

Just an idea, thoughts anyone?
