First time to Snowbird, first comp of the year as well! Were staying down in a hotel in Sandy, what's the best way up to the mountain? Bus? Just drive?
Good places to eat up top for lunch, anything reasonable?
How's the snow?
Thanks in advance guys!

theres a bus stop at the bottom of the canyon that's pretty convenient, but I'm not sure what rates are so it might be easier just to drive up
Food at the mtn is standard resort prices (expensive as fuck). Best bet is to bring a lunch with you if you can.
Snow last weekend was fun but semi-firm, hopefully this new snow softened things up
Good luck at the comp dude

Yo, welcome to the cottonwoods. definitely wanted to check that comp out this weekend, but works got me tied down. I find that if you wanna save gas, there are park n ride lots all near the mouth of the canyon you can bus up to bird from. super easy and you don't waste your own gas sitting in traffic, if that's the case.
cheap delicious food is very easy to come by in SLC, I personally love crown burger and hectors, there are lots of cheap delicious places to find all over. All the places at snowbird are going to be pricey, but its honestly one of the only resorts id be willing to throw cash down at for food. its all really good, I really enjoy the birdfeeder whenever im over there with my dad or something. Tram deck pizza is bomb, too. A little pricey per slice but its great pizza.
I haven't been over there in a few, but judging by this weekends forecast, id expect snow to be spring-like and soft. its current almost 70 in salt lake right now, and in the high 50's up in the mtns, so its a slush fesh at the base no-doubt.
Snowbird is the shit, man. my favorite place to ski out of all the resorts. Good luck, and enjoy the cottonwoods for what they're worth. its a magical place.

Thanks guys! I've been skiing since Thursday and FINALLY get to compete tomorrow (hopefully). Sadly at last nights meeting today was decided as a weather day (horrible decision, blue bird all day). So now we are doing two runs on west badly tonorrow, it'll be interesting to say the least.
But I'm liking Snowbird! Pretty sweet mountain forsure
