paige.I'm in my second season on the Norwalks and am pretty happy with them! I've gotten them out in a wide range of conditions here at Whistler and have settled with using them as my in-between conditions ski - that period where the fresh is a bit skied out but things haven't iced over. They float fine in powder, but the flat tail means they're a lot happier with traditional turns than the pivoty-slarvy-fun I prefer in the fresh. What they're happiest with is charging around and hitting small (and presumably larger if I wasn't a wimp) drops. They do quite well with blasting through tracked up and crusty snow. That said, they are light and not a stiff ski, so the tips can flap distractingly and there is a definite top speed where things get chattery and they start to deflect. This doesn't bug me as there was only one point where I have hit it without specifically looking for it (and that was on a trail covered with icy death cookies) but I could see a larger and/or more aggressive skier having issues. I also don't find them super maneuverable, but I'm an idiot riding 179s despite only being 5'4 and 124lbs. They're still fun in the trees, but don't have the intuitive response that I get from my Caylors. They are (unsurprisingly) miserable on big icy bumps.
As for taking them through the park - they're pretty light and poppy so they can be fun on jumps, but between the mounting point and the flat tails they really only like going forwards.
Alright, they sound pretty much like what I expected (thats a good thing :)
On of the things I was a bit worried about was that they would actually be too stiff. I think I heard that in a youtube review or something so thanks for clearing that up.
They should be delivered tomorrow so I'm SOOPER STOKED :DDDDDD
