So Im really new to skiing and this is my first year skiing ever but from the start I've strictly skied park and today I went out to try some frontflips and managed to get one but it was sort of backseat and I decided to go back up and try to clean it up and ended up landing backseat and one of my skis popped off and I felt some pretty bad shin bang and I was wondering can you in fact break your shins from shin bang? I'm going on a trip to whistler in about 20 days so I really can't afford a serious injury right now or it would ruin everything but at the same time I still want to improve on my frontflip. I'm riding in full tilt konflicts too.
On a serious note, no, you will not break your shins. If you have bad shin bang it will bother you while you're skiing and it will make it uncomfortable while riding and preforming ski maneuvers.
Commit to your front flip and you will be all good for the nearby future.
I got really bad shin bang from skiing every day last month (for school ski team, regular skiing, and backyard setup skiing) and I'm pretty sure i was starting to get a greenstick fracture in it. I was thinking about going to the doctors for it but i just rested and skied pretty mellowly for the next week and i was all good.
